Star Grant
Star Grants encourage creative ideas that improve the education of our students. The program provides resources to students and teachers to implement new initiatives in their schools and the communuity. Grants can be used in a variety of ways including, but not limited to, classroom innovations, cirriculum development, and staff training. Funding may be granted to individuals or groups as sole or matching resources. The grants are to be a means of exploring, developing, and refining ideas for the improvement of edication. The maximum grant amount is $3,000.
star grant criteria
- The Proposal
- is consistent with the aims of the Foundation.
- supports staff in their efforts to help students achieve or exceed the Model Academic Standards as adopted by the Hudson School Board.
- has the approval of appropriate administrator in charge of the area of request. The proposal must be signed by the appropriate administrator or the proposal will not be considered.
- is supplemental to the regular school budget.
- shows a clear benefit to the school students.
- is curricular or instructional in nature.
- Benefits are long range as contrasted with a brief span of time.
- A proposal for matching funds will be considered.
- The legal corporation that operates your school retains all ownership of proposal materials, equipment, and products developed as a result of the Star and Star Initiative Program.
Applications
Applications must be submitted to the Foundation. Applications for Star Program grants postmarked by April 1 and November 1 will be considered.
